Winnie the Pooh for President!
Don’t be a fool, vote for Pooh! What a slogan right? Sounds catchy and just rolls off the tongue, plus it rhymes! Isn't that great?! Sometimes you stumble upon a dumb joke and it gets a few chuckles.
What a funny thought, Winnie the Pooh for president! Who wouldn’t love that idea?! Well turns out Disney had a similar idea all the way back in the 1970’s!
Thats right, all the way back in the 70’s good old Pooh was on the campaign trail working hard for your votes. Actually, they were just marketing pushes for his movie the blustery day and Disney Land stuff. (If I’m seeing it correctly they did various versions of this in 1968, 1972 and 1976?)
Considering that our own nation is just about to vote for its next president, and I like things that make me laugh (hopefully you as well.) I thought it would be fun to play with the idea further and even resurrect some of this old marketing material for fun!
While this is funny, I can’t take claim for this short. I redid a classic strip from the 90’s, it was really fitting, and I wanted to try my hand at it. Here is the original.
And this strip has a bit more history behind it.
This one was directly taken from the actual Winnie the Pooh for president song! You can hear the catchy little song right here.
And keeping with the original Winnie the Pooh for President campaign, they brought on Tigger and Eeyore in different roles. I thought it would be funny to have them quote Parks and Rec and just let it go.
These are all very stupid and probably a big waste of time. But I got carried away with it and it just kept going. And the more I dug into this little corner of history the more stupid jokes I thought for it.
I don’t know.
